How do I host a session?

Open FilmSynk on iOS or go to filmsynk.com/app.html in your browser. Tap "Host a Session", enter your name, select your streaming services, and tap "Create Session". Share the 6-letter code with your group.

How do I join a session?

Get the 6-letter session code from the host. Open FilmSynk and tap "Join a Session". Enter your name and the code, then tap "Join". You'll enter the lobby and wait for the host to start.

What happens when we match?

A match happens when every person in the group swipes right (likes) the same movie or TV show. You'll all see a celebration screen with the matched title. That's your pick for the night!

What is a "near match"?

A near match means almost everyone in the group liked a title, but one person hasn't swiped on it yet. It's a heads-up that you're close to a match!

What does the star (super-like) do?

The star button super-likes a title. It counts as a like for matching purposes, plus it signals to the group that you're especially excited about that title.

Do I need to download an app?

No! While there's an iOS app available, anyone can join a session directly from their web browser at filmsynk.com. No download required.

Why aren't my streaming services showing up?

Make sure you've selected the correct region. Streaming availability varies by country. If a service is available in your country but not showing up, please contact us.

Does the app learn my preferences?

Yes! FilmSynk remembers what you've swiped in past sessions. Titles you've rejected before will appear less often, and the app considers the whole group's history to show more relevant options.

Is my data shared with anyone?

No. FilmSynk doesn't serve ads, doesn't sell data, and doesn't share your information with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. Contact us at help@filmsynk.com and we'll delete your data. You can also clear your local data by clearing your browser storage or deleting the app.
